FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why is there a charge for dropping off my green waste?

This is a question that we are asked from time to time.

There is a misconception surrounding the pervasive myth of “double dipping” in the green waste processing and composting industry.

Once green waste has been left with us at one of our four brances, we do use that green waste to produce organic compost….but that’s not even half the story.

Creating premium organic compost from community greenwaste at a commercial level requires a large investment of time, equipment, testing, vigilence and patience.

We strive to keep our green waste disposal charges to a minimum and are confident that we are both the most economical and environmentally conscious choice for our customers.

We also feel that once customers understand the scale of work that goes into turning their green waste into beautiful, nutrient-rich organic compost, they too will understand why we do need to levy nominal charges for green waste drop off.

For an in depth look at how we turn your green waste into organic compost, check out this blog post which walks through all the hard work involved in our “virtuous cycle”.

Please contact your nearest branch to discuss registering for an account with us.

We deliver to most addresses within the same region as our branches.

For online orders, you can add an item to your basket and start the check-out procedure in order to make sure your postcode is covered in the online ordering system.  If your postcode is not in the system, do let us know as it may be missing erroneously.

You can also call your nearest branch to enquire whether we will deliver to your address.

Our ecommerce products are currently only available for delivery.  We do not currently offer click-and-collect service.

Our ‘Play-Safe’ Playground Chip has been independently tested in a controlled environment to measure the critical fall height.

Play Safe Consulting Limited, an IANZ accredited test laboratory, have measured the impact of an instrumented test headform from various heights onto a 300mm deep bed of our product, and used the recorded information of each impact to determine the fall height at which the Head Injury Criterion (HIC) of 1000 is obtained.  The results showed that the calculated critical fall height for our product would exceed 3.0 metres – well within legal requirements.
